Mathematician with expertise in fluid flow, working on problems in convection and solidification, turbulent buoyant plumes, ocean waves and volcanic eruption processes.
Since joining the BP Institute Andy Woods has worked on developing close links between academia and industry, and has broadened his research interests to include a wide range of flow problems including water flooding in reservoirs, triggering of explosive volcanic eruptions, low energy building design and a variety of flow problems related to the energy industry.
